QR codes & contact details in the picture

Which QR codes and details are fine in your stream, which ones the team looks at – and why nothing happens by itself.

Many bar streams show QR codes – for paying, for a website, for social media. On CamuCam, viewers pay you with tips, offers and the wheel, and your links go through your profile. So the team looks at codes in your picture that lead somewhere else.

What’s fine

  • QR codes CamuCam makes. The cards of your overlays – tip, offers, wheel and each of your profile links – show a QR code on big screens. They lead through CamuCam, are checked again on every scan, and you see how many scans came from where.
  • Codes that lead to the links on your profile – your own Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or website, as saved under Links.
  • Wi-Fi codes, like the bar’s guest Wi-Fi.

What the team looks at

Any other code, most serious first:

  • adult sites – not allowed on CamuCam at all
  • payment codes: Thai QR / PromptPay, bank and wallet codes, PayPal and other payment services, crypto addresses
  • messengers: LINE, Telegram, WhatsApp and the like
  • contact details: phone numbers, contact cards
  • short links and link pages – they hide where they lead
  • someone else’s profile, other websites, and codes that hold plain text

How it works

CamuCam reads a picture of every live stream every few minutes. Nothing happens to your stream by itself – a code from the list above goes to a person from the team.

  • If it’s fine, they mark it so and you hear nothing.
  • Otherwise you get a message in Support that says what to do instead. Take the code out of the picture; you can answer right there.
  • If the code is still in the picture half an hour later, the team sees it again.

What you add yourself

The same idea holds for what you put over your stream:

  • Ticker lines: no links, phone numbers, messengers or payment details – links go on the cards.
  • Logo: no QR codes or barcodes. A picture with one is refused.
  • Website on your profile: no payment links, messengers, link pages or short links.

What you hold into the camera or mix in yourself in OBS has no check when you add it – only the look at your picture every few minutes. Keep payment, messenger and contact details out of it.
