Alerts: sounds & animations
A sound and an animation when someone tips, buys an offer, spins the wheel, raids you, a goal is reached or someone follows – in time with your picture.
When something happens in your stream, CamuCam plays an alert: a short sound and an animation over the picture, with a card that says who and what. You don’t need to set anything up – every channel has them.
- A tip – coins and confetti
- An offer is bought – an air horn and siren lights
- The wheel is spun – a drum roll; the wheel itself is the picture
- A raid arrives – a fanfare
- A goal is reached – cheering
- Someone follows – a quiet ping and small hearts
In time with your picture
Every viewer’s stream runs a little behind you – under a second on a good connection, a few seconds on the fallback. CamuCam knows when something happened and how far behind each player is, so every viewer gets the alert at the moment their picture shows it. Your reaction and the alert arrive together, once – not the alert first and your “thank you!” seconds later.
Alerts come one at a time. When many come at once, at most three wait; older ones fold into the next (“+2 more”).
On your device
On Go live you get every alert at once: the card at the top of the screen and the sound.
- On a computer the sound plays – use headphones, so it doesn’t go into your microphone. Your viewers hear it from CamuCam anyway, in time with your picture.
- On a phone the sound starts off: the phone buzzes and shows the card instead, so nothing goes into your mic.
- Alert sound on my device in the Alerts card switches the sound on or off for this device.
Nothing is mixed into your stream, your copies on other platforms or your OBS sources.
Change them
Open Alerts on Go live:
- Alerts in my stream – switched off, tips and offers still show their card, without sound or animation.
- For each kind: Sound, Animation and Silent, with Preview to hear and see it once.
Each offer can have its own alert: in its form on Offers, the same three fields under Alert when it’s bought.
Sounds as offers
A Sound offer lets viewers play a sound for everyone – “Play “Air horn”” for $0.50. Pick the sound, the price and how often per stream (a sound offer always has a limit). Bought, it plays at once and counts like a tip; it can’t be given back. One sound at a time: right after one, the next waits a few seconds.
In the chat, !sound airhorn doesn’t send a line – it opens your sound offers, so a viewer can buy one with a tap. There are no free sounds.
For viewers
- Alerts make sound once you tap Tap for sound.
- Alerts next to the sound button (on a phone in the bar on the right) sets their volume, separate from the stream. Your browser remembers it.
- With “reduce motion” on in your system settings you get the card without an animation.
Tools that read your chat – an overlay, Streamer.bot – get the same alert with each event, with the sound as a file: Chat API.
