Streaming

Go live from your phone

Stream straight from your phone’s browser – no app, no stream key: turn on the camera, tap Go live.

You can go live on CamuCam from your phone’s browser – nothing to install, nothing to set up. Every account can stream. Tips switch on once the team has verified you – they can do that while you’re live, see Verification & monetization.

Start a stream

  1. Open Go live (Live in the menu) and sign in.
  2. Under Your stream, write a Title (up to 90 characters) and pick a Category. Both are saved as you go.
  3. Stay on the Phone camera tab and tap Turn on camera. Allow the camera and the microphone when the browser asks.
  4. You see yourself with a PREVIEW mark. Tap Go live – the mark turns to LIVE.

Your followers get a line in their activity, and those who turned on the bell for you get a push – see Follow & the bell. The bar at the top shows how long you’ve been live and how many are watching; Open as viewer shows your stream the way others see it. Your chat is on the same page under Your chat.

While you’re live

  • The buttons on the picture switch the microphone on and off and Flip camera between front and back.
  • Upright looks best: viewers on a phone see you full screen, with the chat over the lower part of the picture.
  • CamuCam keeps your screen on while you’re live, where the browser allows it.
  • Keep the page open. If the picture stops – a bad signal, switching to another app – viewers see “Back in a moment” for up to three minutes, and the same stream goes on when your picture is back. If the page says “Connection lost – try again.”, tap Go live again.
  • Need a pause? Take a break shows “Be right back” and turns your camera off until you tap I'm back – see Breaks, reconnects & starting soon.

End the stream

Tap End stream. You’re offline at once, without the “Back in a moment” wait. Going live after that starts a new stream.

If the camera doesn’t start

  • “Camera access was denied” – allow the camera for this site in your browser settings, then try again.
  • “The camera is in use by another app” – close the video call or app that holds it, then try again.
  • “No microphone – streaming without sound” – the browser found no microphone it can use; the picture goes out without sound.

The Phone camera tab works with a webcam on a computer too.
