Follow & the bell

Following and the bell are two separate choices. Following puts a creator into your world, quietly. The bell next to them decides whether they may interrupt you with a push notification when they go live.

Follow

Tap Follow next to a creator’s name – in the feed, on their channel page or on the card of one of their emotes. Then:

• they come first in your feed on Home,
• they’re listed under Following on Browse,
• a line appears in your Activity when they go live, and when a planned stream of theirs is about 15 minutes away. If you have CamuCam open when they go live, a note with Watch pops up too.

Activity is the bell icon at the top of the page; the red number counts what’s new. To unfollow, tap Following next to the name, or Unfollow in the list on your activity page. Your first follow of a channel also earns 5 XP.

The bell

Once you follow someone, a small bell appears next to Following. Turned on, it sends a push to every device where you’ve allowed push – when they go live, and about 15 minutes before a planned stream.

1. Tap the bell.
2. The first time, your browser asks whether CamuCam may show notifications – allow it.
3. You see You’ll get a push when … goes live.

• iPhone: push only works for web apps on the Home Screen. Tap Share in Safari, choose “Add to Home Screen”, open CamuCam from there and tap the bell again – the app walks you through it.
• Blocked: if you said no before, allow notifications for CamuCam in the browser’s site settings, then tap the bell again.
• Once one of your devices has push, new follows start with the bell on.
• A stream that drops and starts again within 30 minutes doesn’t send a second push.

Manage it all on one page

Activity lists what happened, everyone you follow with their bell and Unfollow, and your devices:

• Push on this device – Turn on, Turn off or Send a test.
• Your devices – every browser that gets pushes, with Remove.

Your bell choice per creator is the same on every device.
